Kids Policy

Who this is for

This policy is for readers under 13 and for their parents or guardians. If the reader on your phone is under 13, Moonlit gives them a Kids account. Parents, please read this with your child.

What we collect

Only what we need to run the app: the birthday you give (we turn it into an age band so we show the right stories), gender if you choose to share it, and reading progress such as which stories and chapters you opened, saved or liked.

We do not ask children for their name, address, phone number, photos or location. If a parent ever needs to give us contact details, for example to ask us a question, we use them only to reply.

What Kids accounts do not have

No ads and no tracking or advertising identifiers. No analytics that follow a child around.

No comments: children cannot post, read or like comments. No ratings or reviews.

No push notifications.

No purchases: no coins, no Premium, and no way to spend money. Every story shown to a Kids account is free to read.

Which stories children see

Kids accounts only see stories rated Kids only. These are written for children and are hidden from teens and adults. Our editors check each story before it is published.

Your rights as a parent

You can ask us to show you the information we hold about your child, correct it, or delete it. You can also ask us to close a Kids account. Contact us using the details on our website and tell us which account you mean; we may ask you to confirm you are the child’s parent or guardian.

If a child gave the wrong birthday, tell us and we will correct it.

Keeping data safe

We keep children’s data only while the account is open, protect it with the same safeguards as all other data, and delete it when the account is deleted. We do not sell it or share it with advertisers.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. If we make a significant change we will ask for acceptance again in the app before it takes effect.
